Rod Fox, Managing Partner & CEO
Rod Fox is the CEO of TigerRisk Partners. TigerRisk is a global strategic reinsurance and capital advisory firm, working with a high-end group of insurers.
Prior to founding TigerRisk, Rod served as the Chief Executive Officer of Praetorian Financial Group where he led the re-structuring, re-branding, and successful sale of the $2B specialty property and casualty insurer to QBE the Americas.
Prior to PFG, Rod was the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Benfield Group’s US reinsurance platform where he oversaw the profitable growth of the business while delivering industry leading trading margins. He was a member of the Board of Benfield and was instrumental in their initial public offering on the London Stock Exchange. He was also involved in numerous industry transactions, including the growth of Benfield’s capital markets advisory business, the first Florida JUA depopulation, a restructuring of Allstate Group’s catastrophe exposure, and the formation of Montpelier Re.
Rod started his career at E.W. Blanch Co., a privately held reinsurance intermediary. He was involved in EWB’s initial public offering and enjoyed various positions within EWB; ultimately becoming President and Chief Operating Officer.
In conjunction with Jim Stanard, the former CEO of RenaissanceRe, Rod formed F&S Ventures in 2008, a privately-held insurance investment firm.
Rod holds the CPCU designation and is a graduate of Middlebury College and the Executive Risk Management Program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He serves on numerous industry boards and is active with the Navy SEAL Foundation. He has also completed the half and full IRONMAN endurance races.
James Stanard, Chairman
James Stanard was founder, Chairman and CEO of RenaissanceRe, growing its market value from $141M in 1993 to over $3B when he left in 2005. As a worldwide leader in property catastrophe reinsurance, RenaissanceRe achieved the highest ROE in the insurance industry each of ten consecutive years. From 1990 to 1993 Jim was Executive Vice President of USF&G. As a member of a successful turn-around team, he was responsible for underwriting and claims. From 1983 to 1990 he was co-founder and Executive Vice President of F&G Re, one of the most successful reinsurers in the world during that period. During his 35 years in the insurance industry he has also held underwriting and actuarial positions at Prudential, Chubb, and INA.
Jim is currently Chairman and/or director of several privately held companies, including F&S Ventures LLC.
Jim has a BA in Mathematics from Lehigh University, a PhD in Finance from New York University, is a fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, and has authored award-winning actuarial papers.
Jim is a trustee of the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences and Chairman of Habitat For Humanity of Bermuda.
Tony Ursano, President
Tony Ursano joined TigerRisk Partners as President in April 2015 from Willis, where he was the founder and CEO of Willis Capital Markets & Advisory for six years and a member of the Willis Group Executive Committee. Prior to joining Willis, Tony was Vice Chairman of the Financial Institutions Group at Banc of America Securities. Between 1999 and 2008, he was Global Head of the Financial Institutions Group at Banc of America Securities, managing a team of more than 150 bankers. Prior to that, he was a senior director at Merrill Lynch for five years. Tony started his career at Donaldson, Lufkin, and Jenrette and subsequently worked for SG Warburg in New York and London. He has over 28 years of experience as an investment banker focused on the insurance industry and is a frequent speaker on the state of the insurance and reinsurance industries.
He has advised on more than 100 insurance industry M&A transactions, and more than 125 debt, equity, and ILS capital raising transactions in his career, including many of the industry’s most prominent deals. While at Willis, amongst other things, Tony worked on the acquisition by management of American Coastal Insurance and simultaneous sale by management of a significant interest in AmRisc, the sale of QBE’s MGA businesses to Alliant, the sale of Fortegra to Tiptree, the sale of York Insurance Services to Onex, the sale of Cathedral to Lancashire, the sale of Alea to Catalina Holdings, the sale of Imperial Management to National General, ACE’s acquisition of Fianzas Monterey, the acquisition by CVC of Brit, the sale of Permanent General to American Family, the sale of Family Heritage to Torchmark, the sale of AmWINS to New Mountain Capital, the sale of Arrowhead to Brown & Brown, the sale of Montpelier’s US business to Selective, the sale of Penn Millers to ACE, the sale of Chaucer to the Hanover Group, the acquisition by CVC of Cunningham Lindsey, the sale of Secura to QBE, the merger of Harbor Point and Max Re, and the sale of Premium Credit to GTCR.
Prior to joining Willis, select significant transactions in which Tony was involved include the sale of ZC Sterling to QBE, the acquisition of FSA by Assured Guaranty, the acquisition of HRH by Willis, the sale of Bank of America’s Corporate Insurance Agency to HRH, the acquisition of 21st Century Insurance by AIG, the spin-off of Fidelity National’s title operations, the sale of Sedgwick CMS to Fidelity National & T.H. Lee, the sale of CompWest to Accident Fund, the sale of 21st Century Insurance to Farmers, the sale of Crump to J.C. Flowers, the acquisition of E.W. Blanch by Benfield, the acquisition of Travelers Life by MetLife, the sale of Acordia to Wells Fargo, the sale of Lyndon Insurance to Protective and the acquisition by ACE of CIGNA’s P&C insurance operations.

Tony received his Bachelor of Arts in both Economics and International Studies from UNC Chapel Hill with honors where he was a Morehead Scholar and a member of their National Championship NCAA Division I Lacrosse Team.
Paul Karon, Vice Chairman
Paul began his reinsurance career in 1985 with E.W. Blanch, where he became an industry leader and innovator in the property catastrophe market. Together with Rod Fox, he co-founded Benfield Inc. in 2000 and served as President/COO. He ultimately held the positions of CEO and Chairman and also served on the board of Benfield PLC, the parent company, which traded on the London exchange.
After Benfield was purchased by Aon in 2008, Paul served as Chairman Americas of Aon Benfield and was a member of the global executive committee. He joined AQR Re, a Bermuda-based reinsurance company, in 2012 as Vice Chairman and served on its board of directors. Paul joined TigerRisk Partners as Vice Chairman in 2015.
Paul holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of St. Thomas and is a graduate of the Executive Risk Management Program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. He is a member of the Young Presidents Organization and serves on the Boards of Directors of WUSF Public Media and the Opus School of Business at the University of St. Thomas.
Hugo Crawley, Chairman & CEO (UK)
Prior to joining TigerRisk in 2013, Hugo Crawley has spent over 30 years in the insurance and reinsurance business, starting his career at a Lloyds Syndicate in 1980 and then joining BMS in 1982, a specialist wholesale North American treaty reinsurance broker.
Hugo held various positions at BMS becoming Chairman of the North American reinsurance broker in 1999 and Group Chairman in 2008. He helped build BMS' North American platform and was responsible for winning significant clients across the U.S. He helped establish one of the premier Florida depopulation carriers in 1999 and helped create several other respected P&C specialist insurers. Hugo was also instrumental in expanding BMS’ operations and building out their U.S. offices.
Throughout his career Hugo has always put the interests of his clients first. Hugo brings his distinguished career and high level of professionalism to TigerRisk Partners where he is helping to grow Tiger’s quickly expanding London office.

Nick Anning, Director
Nick Anning began his career at Chandler Hargreaves and Whittall in 1978. He joined the bespoke Reinsurance Brokers Ellinger Heath Western in 1980 and became an Associate Partner in 1993. Nick remained with the Company as it metamorphosed through various iterations including Benfield Ellinger, Benfield Greig, Benfield Blanch, Benfield, and finally Aon Benfield in 2008.
Nick's role at Benfield was head of North American Property Treaty in the London office and he continued that role within Aon Benfield. As well as his management duties, Nick was the London Account Executive for several large and medium sized U.S. accounts, as well as being responsible for several non-aligned U.S. property and casualty accounts.

Martin Bartell, Partner
Martin has over thirty years of industry experience. Before joining TigerRisk Partners in 2014, Martin held a position with the Aon Benfield Global Re Specialty team where he was responsible for production and placement of non-marine retrocessional business, encompassing per risk and catastrophe business placed with traditional reinsurers and ILS markets.
Prior to Aon Benfield Re Specialty, Martin was a member of a team that joined Arthur J. Gallagher to create Gallagher Re which focused on property retrocession. He originated the idea and co-led the team that saw Gallagher Re in partnership with the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) launch a series of catastrophe derivatives that traded on the NYMEX exchange.
He also worked for the Benfield Group, as well as Alexander Howden where he was a member of the LMX Division’s placing team.

Steve J Bensinger, Partner & Senior Advisor
Steve Bensinger joined TigerRisk Partners in 2015 as a Senior Advisor and is based in New York City. Steve has over 40 years of professional and executive experience within the insurance industry, including roles as board member, chairman, president, chief executive officer, chief financial officer, treasurer, comptroller, interim legal officer and human resources officer, and partner with a big four accounting and consulting firm. Steven has been responsible for a wide range of high-level assignments involving expertise in strategic planning, crisis management, operational management, turnarounds, financial management and reporting, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance, spin-offs, restructurings, joint ventures, bank and investment community relations, securitizations, treasury, rating agency relations, and corporate governance.
He has held management and executive positions with national and international insurance and reinsurance companies in which he was called upon to achieve organic growth, perform turnarounds, establish new operating subsidiaries, execute mergers and acquisitions, and attain recapitalization. Steve has demonstrated innovative leadership in helping companies achieve strategic goals and enhance enterprise value.
Steve has held management and executive positions with FTI Consulting, Inc., The Hanover Insurance Group, American International Group, Combined Specialty Group (an Aon Corporation subsidiary), Trenwick Group, Chartwell Re Corporation, Skandia America Corporation, and Coopers & Lybrand. He is also a member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Finance Committee of the International Insurance Society, a member of the Board of Directors and Strategic Planning Committee of Ronald McDonald House of New York, past member of the Board of Overseers, Leonard N. Stern School of Business, New York University, and past President and Board member, Stern School of Business Alumni Association. Steve also serves as an independent director on the boards of The Doctors Company and Kinsale Capital Group.
He holds a CPA certificate and the CGMA designation.
Crosby Branch joined TigerRisk in 2013 as a member of the property broking team. At TigerRisk Crosby has been a key member of the broking team, handling large property placements and building strong relationships with external clients, markets, and internal partners, in order to identify solutions that meet client needs.
Prior to joining TigerRisk, Crosby was a reinsurance broker at BMS in London. At BMS, he worked with clients on the placement of Florida and US-Nationwide business into Lloyds of London. In addition to traditional reinsurance placements, Crosby worked with capital and other alternative markets to provide non-traditional risk solutions for his clients.
Crosby received a BBA in 2007 in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Georgia’s Terry School of Business where he was recognized for his work abroad in London and Bermuda.
Alex Bridges, Partner
Alex began his career in the property and casualty industry in 2004. Prior to joining TigerRisk Partners UK in 2011, Alex worked at BMS where he worked across both retail and wholesale broking teams on the large nationwide, super-regional, and Florida specific accounts. Alex was also responsible for London ILW production and was involved in the production of London market retrocessional business.

Tom Carter, Global Head of Human Capital
Tom Carter is the Global Head of Human Capital at TigerRisk. Alongside his team, he leads the company’s efforts related to Compensation, Talent Acquisition, Performance Management, Compensation, Learning & Development.
Before joining TigerRisk in 2016, Tom was a highly regarded headhunter in the P&C insurance sector. Previous to that, he was a US diplomat for 12 years. Highlights from his diplomatic career included a role as US Delegate to the UN Security Council where, among other accomplishments, he led the planning of a 10,000 person peacekeeping force in Haiti; prior to that Tom was the Policy Director for the Western Hemisphere in the Office of Counterterrorism at the U.S. State Department. He worked closely with the White House counterterrorism team focused on cyber security and received multiple awards for his service during and after 9/11; from 1998 - 2000, Tom ran a counter-narcotics program in Nicaragua, aimed at stopping trans-shipment of Colombian cocaine to the U.S.
Tom earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University (1988) and a Masters degree in Administration and Social Policy from Harvard University (1992). He is fluent in Spanish and French and lives in New York with his wife and their seven children. In his spare time, Tom is a yoga practitioner and certified instructor.
Bhaskar Chattaraj, Partner
Bhaskar Chattaraj began his career in the insurance industry in 1998 at AIR Worldwide Corporation, where he was the manager of the Core Products Quality Group. In that position he was responsible for statistical analysis and testing of all catastrophe models and underlying industry exposures. Additionally, Bhaskar played an integral role in the development of a proprietary catastrophe software engine and was involved in special client risk management projects such as providing analytical expertise in the design of catastrophe bonds.
Prior to joining TigerRisk Partners in 2009, Bhaskar was the Assistant Vice President in the Analytics department at John B. Collins Associates, Inc. In that capacity he was responsible for building analytical tools for catastrophe risk analysis, creating tools and processes for optimizing portfolios of catastrophe-prone exposures including depopulations from Citizens Property Insurance Corporation in Florida, reinsurance and ILW pricing, and creating growth and start-up scenarios for several companies.
Bhaskar earned both a bachelor's degree and master's degree in statistics from Indian Statistical Institute and a master's degree in economics from Boston University.
Geraldine Del Prete, Partner
Geraldine Del Prete has over 25 years of experience in the reinsurance industry. She began her career at the investment banking firm, J. Henry Schroeder. Her reinsurance career began at Guy Carpenter & Company, LLC, where she held various positions over a period of 12 years. She later joined Aon Re where she began her broking career and became Senior Vice President of the Catastrophe Management Group. After 6 years with Aon, she joined American Re and led national accounts. Geraldine then joined Willis Re to assist in developing Willis Re's New York team/business unit and became one of Willis Group's leading producers. Geraldine was Executive Vice President and a member of the Willis Partners Council, co-leading the Global Account Initiative.
Before joining TigerRisk Partners in 2008, Geraldine was Senior Executive Vice President for Gallagher Re and was responsible for leading the U.S. Property and Casualty Treaty Group, developing business and successfully assisting with the sale of Gallagher Re to Aon Corp.
Geraldine attended North Carolina State University where she received an undergraduate degree in finance and economics and received an MBA from C. W. Post.
Anna began her reinsurance career at Benfield (now Aon Benfield) in 2008, where she was a member of the Property Specialty team. As a member of the Property Specialty team at Aon Benfield, she provided reinsurance pricing guidance for property catastrophe clients. Anna also assisted in the development of the QuoteMetrics platform, a tool that provides analyses comparing price and modeled exposure. In addition to QuoteMetrics, Anna supported the research and development of the Reinsurance Market Outlook white papers at Aon Benfield.
She received a BA in International Business and Reconciliation Studies from Bethel University.
Andrew DiLoreto joined TigerRisk Partners Bermuda Ltd. in July 2015 to assist in the build out of TigerRisk’s Bermuda Retrocessional Office. In Bermuda, Andrew is responsible for representing TigerRisk in the Bermudian insurance and reinsurance market to maintain and grow the firm’s key strategic relationships.
Non-Marine Retrocessional responsibilities include the production and renewal of reinsurance, retrocessional and ILW business from Bermuda based insurance and reinsurance companies including Bermuda based hedge funds and ILS markets. Andrew is heavily involved in the structuring and pricing of retrocessional business managed by the Bermuda Account team and has successfully aided in the creation, marketing, and placement of new retrocessional and reinsurance products.
Andrew DiLoreto joined TigerRisk in 2011 as a member of the U.S. Property Treaty and Retrocessional teams and was responsible for managing the reinsurance placements for various regional clients. Responsibilities included the development of client submissions and marketing materials, marketing client placements, domestically and abroad, pricing/structuring and stress testing of client structures, and brokering syndicated property catastrophe placements from the quoting process through contract execution.
Prior to joining TigerRisk Partners, Andrew spent two years as a GMO Rotational Analyst with Bank of America Merrill Lynch in U.S. Structured Derivatives supporting Insurance (COLI/BOLI) and Pension Derivative (401-K and 529 Wraps) transactions.
Andrew earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a Minor in Business from Villanova University and holds active FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 licenses.
Chris Dittman, Partner
Chris Dittman began his reinsurance career at E.W. Blanch Co. (now Aon Benfield) in 1996 as a treaty accountant and quickly established himself as a dedicated leader, becoming an Assistant Vice President and supervisor of treaty accounting in 1998. In 2001 Chris joined the finance department of Benfield as Director of Internal Controls where his responsibilities included establishing operational controls around the accounting and claims processing systems, corporate management and financial reporting, integration of the US and UK systems, and revenue recognition. In 2005, Chris joined the Benfield broking team as Vice President charged with the placement of property catastrophe reinsurance specializing in the Florida marketplace.
Since joining TigerRisk Partners LLC in 2008 Chris has played a key role in production efforts in the property catastrophe arena, product development and the placement of property catastrophe reinsurance programs.
Chris earned a BS in Economics from the University of Minnesota and holds the CPCU and ARe designations.
James Dowd, Chairman – International
Jim Dowd brings 42 years of experience in insurance and reinsurance at the enterprise level to TigerRisk Partners. His career in the industry began as General Counsel of Skandia America Re in 1972 where he ultimately was selected as Chairman and CEO in 1984. He continued in that position until 1992 when he moved to Willis Re where he headed its North American reinsurance practice. He returned to Skandia as CEO in 1995 tasked to sell the company which he did successfully in early 1996. The buyer, Fairfax Financial Holdings of Toronto, Canada, used the Skandia acquisition as a base to found what is today Odyssey Re, a global reinsurer. Jim was a founder of that company.
In 2002 Jim was named Chairman and CEO of Fairfax Asia and led a team to extend Fairfax non-life operations to the Asia region. For the next decade he led the team which acquired or initiated non-life insurance operations in India, China (including Hong Kong), Singapore, and Thailand. During this period he served on the board of directors of all of the Asian affiliates and continued to serve as Vice Chairman of Odyssey Re.
Jim is a graduate of Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program, St. John's University School of Law, and C.W. Post College. He is also a long time member of the board of overseers of St. John's University School of Insurance, Risk Management and Actuarial Science. Jim is a veteran of service in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Russ began his reinsurance career with JB Collins in 2003, moving to Guy Carpenter when JB Collins was purchased in 2009. He joined TigerRisk’s Accounting and Claims Department in 2012 and moved to broking in 2013.
Russ has handled quota share, premium, claims, and funding transactions and has worked on a variety of programs, including crop, CGL, property and casualty, and professional liability. Russ has also worked on a number of departmental initiatives, including system testing, training, and revenue reporting.
Russ holds a BS in Finance from St. Cloud State University.
David Fernandez began his career by serving our country as a Navy SEAL. David was in the U.S. Navy for 14 years and completed multiple combat tours in support of the Global War on Terrorism as a significantly contributing team member and leader. After honorably separating from U.S. Naval Special Warfare, in 2008 David joined ConocoPhillips Crude Oil Supply and Trading Organization and was responsible for managing up to $1 billion of crude oil inventory. He then later transferred to their Marketing Organization and took charge of the restructuring for one of its fuel credit card portfolios.
In April, 2012, David took over as Vice President of Marketing for Taking Point Inc. helping them to grow its member base by 500%. David joined TigerRisk in 2013 and is excited to apply his diverse experience and unique perspective into the company’s reinsurance business.
David has his MBA from the University of Chicago with a concentration in Finance. He is also a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) and is currently working toward an ARe certification.
Patrick Gonnelli, Partner
Patrick Gonnelli has a wealth of experience in the financial and reinsurance industries. Pat began his reinsurance career with Towers Perrin as a consultant responsible for the production, trading and development of all ILW business, as well as marketing and placing traditional reinsurance programs. Prior to entering the reinsurance arena, Pat was heavily involved in the investment world. He began his career in Boston, holding multiple positions within John Hancock organization and eventually ING in New York, where he traded equities on all Latin America Exchanges and was responsible for the trading activity of all London clients.
Prior to joining TigerRisk Partners in 2010, Pat served as an Executive Vice President for Tradition Re in Bermuda where he was responsible for the production and development of the Worldwide Property ILW and Property Retrocessional business. Before joining Tradition Re, Pat handled revenue production and development for Carvill's ILW and Property Retro books and was responsible for increasing awareness, revenue production, and trading of the Carvill Hurricane Index (CHI) on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Prior to Carvill, he worked for Willis Re in New York where he was responsible for developing their ILW business and was responsible for maintaining and growing their market relationships with new and established hedge funds and investment banks.
Pat is a graduate of the Boston University School of Management and currently holds the FINRA Series 7, 24 and 3.
Wade Gulbransen, Partner
Wade Gulbransen has many years of experience in the property and casualty reinsurance industry. Wade started his career in 1995 at E.W. Blanch Co. (now Aon Benfield) and participated in its industry-leading reinsurance training program. During his tenure at EWB, he worked with a variety of different companies ranging from specialty-niche companies to global national companies, for whom he designed, placed, and serviced complex casualty reinsurance treaties.
Prior to joining TigerRisk Partners in 2009, Wade served as Executive Vice President and led Benfield's Casualty Specialty Group, a dedicated group of reinsurance experts providing holistic risk management advice specific to casualty lines of business. Wade has extensive experience applying analytical tools, dynamic financial models and catastrophe models to help customers evaluate and select the optimal strategy.
Wade received a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from St. Cloud State University and also holds the ARe designation.
Marc Havens, Partner
Marc Havens began his reinsurance career in 1998 with E.W. Blanch Co. (now Aon Benfield). From 1998 to 2002, Marc held various reinsurance accounting positions at EWB, including that of reinsurance accounting supervisor. In 2002, Marc transitioned from accounting to broking and worked primarily on large, Florida-specific property accounts. Prior to joining TigerRisk Partners in February of 2008, Marc held the title of Vice President at Benfield Inc.
At TigerRisk, Marc continues to focus primarily on property accounts. He is responsible for maintaining/developing current client relationships, is part of the TigerRisk future client team, and is team lead on several large reinsurance placements.
Marc earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Northwestern College and holds the CPCU and ARe designations.
Chris Jenkins, Partner
Chris Jenkins has specialized in North American P&C reinsurance for more than a decade. Chris commenced his business career at Coopers & Lybrand (PWC) and then moved to reinsurance broker RK Carvill where he focused on program business. Prior to joining Tiger Risk in 2013, Chris was a Divisional Director at BMS Intermediaries for ten years with account responsibility and direction for significant nationwide and super regional property catastrophe risk, workers’ compensation, and program business placements. Chris was also involved with capital raising and formation of several insurance vehicles. Chris currently serves on the board of a Florida insurance company.
Chris graduated from the University of Southampton with a Bachelor of Science Degree (with honours) and holds the ACII designation.

Linda Johnson, Partner
Linda Johnson is a recognized leader in the reinsurance industry. She began her career in the management training program of E.W. Blanch Co. (now Aon Benfield) in 1987 where she held positions in their accounting, claims, actuarial, and contract writing departments. She became a reinsurance broker in 1990 and progressed to Executive Vice President in 2000. In 2001, E.W. Blanch was acquired by Benfield Group and Linda became a member of the U.S. Executive Committee which was responsible for the leadership of Benfield Group's US Reinsurance Platform. Linda joined TigerRisk Partners as a Partner in 2008.
During her reinsurance career, Linda designed and placed numerous specialty reinsurance contracts for a broad range of customers and product types. Her customers have included St. Paul Travelers, Zurich, and XL, and she worked with the entire spectrum of global reinsurers, including Swiss Re Underwriters, Transatlantic, Lloyds, and Partner Re.
Linda was recognized as one of Business Insurance "Women to Watch" in 2006. She has an MBA from the University of Minnesota, and holds the CPCU and ARe designations.
John Kenney has more than 20 years of experience as a reinsurance broker. John began his career in reinsurance at E.W. Blanch Co. (now Aon Benfield) in 1994 as a broker. John has a great deal of experience as a lead broker and placed reinsurance for clients ranging from specialty companies to regional carriers, super-regional carriers, and national carriers.
Prior to joining TigerRisk Partners in 2014, John was a Managing Director with Aon Benfield where he was responsible for the design, placement, and management of various forms of reinsurance coverage for U.S. property and casualty insurers.
John earned a BS in Business Administration with a major in accounting from Creighton University and is also a graduate of the Creighton University School of Law. John is a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association. He holds a CPA certificate and the ARe designation.
Jayant Khadilkar, Partner
Prior to joining TigerRisk Partners in early 2009, Jayant Khadilkar was President of RenRe Investment Managers, Ltd., which Jayant helped establish as a wholly-owned subsidiary of RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd. The company manages capital by providing financial risk management solutions to companies with exposure to weather, along with investing/trading in weather derivatives, weather-contingent energy, and agricultural commodities.
Jayant was the CEO/President of Weather Predict Inc., a company he co-founded in early 2000. In 2006, that company became wholly owned subsidiary of RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd. Weather Predict has a patented technology used for improving the quality and skill of weather forecasts. Weather Predict provides a significant competitive edge to various financial companies.
Jayant was Vice President at Renaissance Reinsurance Ltd in Bermuda. He was responsible companywide analytics, IT along with leading the development of REMS©, a proprietary reinsurance exposure/risk management and pricing system. Before joining Renaissance, Jayant was Vice President at Applied Insurance Research in Boston, a software/consulting firm specializing in insurance and reinsurance catastrophe risk management.
Jayant and his wife are one of the founding families of Follow the Child Montessori School in Raleigh, North Carolina. Jayant served on the board of this school and was the Chairman for almost two years. Jayant is also an affiliate entrepreneur with Duke Fuqua School of Business, Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
Jayant earned a BE in Mechanical Engineering from the College of Engineering, Pune University, India, and a master's degree in operations research from the University of Kentucky.
Philipp Kusche, Partner
Philipp Kusche joined TigerRisk Partners in April 2016 as Partner and Global Head of Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS) and Capital Solutions.
Philipp comes from Swiss Re Capital Markets in New York where he most recently was the Head of their ILS Structuring and Origination team covering Insurance Companies, Hedge Funds, Governmental Entities, and Corporate Clients in the U.S., Latin America, and Asia. He joined Swiss Re Capital Markets in New York in 2006 and was responsible for and instrumental in creating and executing billions of dollars worth of CAT bonds, sidecars, contingent capital structures, and other alternative capital products for clients globally, while maintaining a strong focus on product development. As part of such activities, he developed relationships with many key ILS and other institutional investors and maintained a close dialogue with other stakeholders in the ILS space. In addition to such sell-side activities, he structured, priced, and executed a large number of CAT derivatives, mainly on a parametric basis, providing protection to a variety of clients. Philipp joined Swiss Re in 2002, and was initially based at its headquarters in Zurich as a management trainee. Working mainly in the Chief Underwriting Office, he quickly advanced into the global Energy Practice as a property underwriter in London and Zurich.
He graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering from the Bauhaus University in Germany and a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute in Zurich (ETH). His Masters Thesis, supported by Credit Suisse, was on public-private partnerships and their potential in Switzerland.
Larry LaMere, Partner
Larry LaMere joined Rod Fox in June 2000 for the creation of Benfield, LLC and led the formation of its operations and customer technical services. Following the merger with E.W. Blanch Co., he was responsible for all of the US operations of Benfield Group. These responsibilities covered all aspects of intermediary operations, including contract writing, fiduciary accounting, customer technical services, and information technology.
Larry has over 30 years of reinsurance industry experience. Prior to joining Benfield, he worked at Aon Re were he was involved with their e-commerce initiatives, operations workflow analysis and broker technical support. Prior to Aon Re, Larry spent 18 years with E.W. Blanch Co. (including 1 year at Swire Blanch—Europe, Copenhagen). His responsibilities ranged from 8 years as CFO to various operational management functions. He formed one of the industry’s first formalized fiduciary accounting structures for an intermediary.
Larry has an eclectic educational history primarily focused on finance, business administration, and accounting, as well as French, marketing, and statistics at the University of Minnesota.
Larry serves on the Special Education Advisory Committee for the City of Bloomington schools and served as Chairman in 2006–2007.
Marc Lauricella, Partner
Marc Lauricella is a senior executive with many years of experience in the insurance and risk management industry. He has extensive experience in the reinsurance and insurance markets, working as a business development executive and reinsurance broker.
Prior to joining TigerRisk Partners in 2008, Marc was the Chief Marketing Officer of Praetorian Financial Group, a specialty insurance company where he was instrumental in rebranding the business, redeveloping the production relationships with MGAs and wholesalers, and coordinating/placing corporate reinsurance programs. The sale of the $2B insurance premium company to QBE the Americas was completed in June of 2007.
Before Praetorian, Marc served as a senior manager and executive for several successful reinsurance intermediaries, including E. W. Blanch Co. and Benfield, where he managed several significant reinsurance clients and was the US Team Leader of the MGA/GA business units which focused on the origination of MGA/GA opportunities and relationships, including client insurance carrier relationships and reinsurance placements.
During his reinsurance broker career, Marc directed the reinsurance placements of several large corporate multi-line reinsurance programs and a significant number of large catastrophe reinsurance programs for Florida companies, including the coordination of several Florida property portfolio transfers and the restructuring of the catastrophe reinsurance programs to cover these portfolios.
Marc received a Bachelor of Science degree from Tulane University and an MBA from Tulane University's AB Freeman School of Business.
Jarad Madea, Partner
Jarad Madea joined TigerRisk Partners and TigerRisk Capital Markets & Advisory in May 2015 from Willis Capital Markets & Advisory where he was a Senior Vice President specializing in M&A advisory and capital raising for P&C insurance clients. Prior to joining Willis during the 2009 formation of Willis Capital Markets & Advisory, Jarad began his career at Banc of America Securities where he was an Associate in the Financial Institutions Group. With over 13 years as an investment banker focused on the insurance industry, he has been involved in more than 50 M&A and capital raising transactions.
Selected recent transaction experience includes acting as a financial advisor to ABRY Partners in its $1.3 billion sale of York Risk Management Services to Onex, acting as exclusive financial advisor to ACE Group in its $293 million acquisition of Fianzas Monterrey, acting as a Co-Manager and private placement agent on Heritage Insurance’s $86 million IPO and private placement to Nephila and acting as private placement agent to PURE in its $34 million surplus note issuance.
Jarad graduated Cum Laude with his Bachelor of Science in Applied Economics and Management from Cornell University.
Pat Martin began his reinsurance career at E.W. Blanch in 1993 (now Aon Benfield) as a treaty accountant. In 1997 Pat joined Blanch’s finance team and was responsible for revenue recognition, forecasting, and analysis.
In 2005 Pat joined Benfield’s finance team in London and was responsible for global revenue reporting and analysis.
Following Aon’s acquisition of Benfield in 2008, Pat worked on various integration projects including IT system conversions and accounting policy harmonization.
Most recently Pat worked in Aon Benfield’s Minneapolis branch where he was responsible for U.S. treaty revenue financial reporting and analysis supporting global standardization of Aon’s revenue recognition policy and IT system development.
Pat earned a BS in Finance and Risk Management from St. Cloud State University and holds the CPCU, ARe, and AIAF designations.
Freddie began his career in 2008 as a graduate trainee working on international accounts where he focused on single territory European accounts. He later transitioned to working on global placements as part of the US team. In addition, he was heavily involved in producing business for ILS and traditional markets.
Prior to joining TigerRisk Partners UK in 2014, Freddie spent six years at Willis Re where he was deeply involved in the analysis, structuring, and placement of complex multi-national property programs for retail clients and US-specific wholesale accounts. In this role he was also responsible for placing casualty business for accounts through the London office.
Freddie graduated from the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne with a BA (hons) in Modern Languages.

Dan has almost 20 years experience as a reinsurance broker having held lead and placement broker responsibilities for a broad range of clients, including property, casualty and professional liability placements for National Carriers, Specialty E&S Casualty, Super Regional, and Regional Carriers.
Prior to joining TigerRisk, Dan was a Senior Vice President with Aon Benfield where he held dual responsibilities as a placement broker and led the Umbrella and Commercial Automobile Casualty Specialty Practice team. Located in Aon Benfield’s Minneapolis office, Dan was responsible for assisting clients and broker teams with products and services to evaluate companies’ primary and reinsurance pricing, analyze portfolio exposures, and develop reinsurance structures to optimize reinsurance programs. He has worked extensively with actuarial departments and Dynamic Financial Analysis framework in the analysis and enhancement of a broad range of reinsurance programs. Dan’s knowledge of fundamental actuarial concepts, coupled with extensive reinsurance placement experience, help him provide strong technical support to deliver superior reinsurance negotiations for his clients.
He is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas, where he received a bachelor’s degree in English. He also holds CPCU and ARe certifications.
Kerry Nash began her career in reinsurance in 2004 at Paragon, a subsidiary of Benfield Group as a Reinsurance Analyst, where she provided reinsurance administration and processed reinsurance claims.
Prior to joining TigerRisk Partners in 2009, Kerry was a senior catastrophe modeler at Aon Benfield. Kerry focused on several projects during her tenure at Aon Benfield, including training new analysts and clients on catastrophe modeling methodologies and practices, working with complex commercial portfolios, and assisting Florida start-up companies to create pro forma portfolios and exposure management initiatives. Additionally, Kerry guided several clients through the processes of Florida Citizens Property Insurance Corporation and Louisiana Citizens Property Insurance Corporation depopulations. Kerry helped clients understand the value of assessing catastrophe risk accurately and knowledgably through intensive data cleansing and customized sensitivity analyses. In 2012, Kerry shifted her focus to the placement side. While Kerry remains heavily involved in TigerRisk’s analytics initiatives, she is currently responsible for supporting and placing property catastrophe reinsurance programs for companies ranging from large national writers to regional insurance companies.
Kerry received a BA in Business Management with a minor in English from Gustavus Adolphus College.
Steve Pfeiffer joined TigerRisk in September 2013 as a member of the firm’s Future Client team and brings a diverse skill-set from his experiences in reinsurance broking and underwriting.
Prior to joining TigerRisk, Steve was a Senior Vice President with Guy Carpenter & Company, LLC, where he served as treaty account executive for several Property and Casualty clients and was responsible for the Chicago branch’s new business development efforts. At various stages, Steve was a member of the firm’s Casualty, Professional Liability, Program Managers and Property Specialty Practices. Steve began his career with General Reinsurance Corporation as a Casualty Facultative underwriter and later managed portfolios of Non-Medical Professional Liability program business with its subsidiary, General Star Management Company.
Steve earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Notre Dame and a Masters in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Entrepreneurship & Innovation from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. In addition, Steve holds his CPCU, RPLU, ASLI and ARe designations.
Milan Radonich, Partner
Milan Radonich is a senior financial executive with over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry and is currently the Chief Financial Officer of F&S Ventures LLC and its subsidiaries, including TigerRisk Partners.
Prior to joining F&S, Milan was the CFO of Praetorian Financial Group, a $1.8B premium property/casualty insurance company subsidiary of Hannover Re, and together with Rod Fox played a key role in its sale to QBE. Prior to joining PFG, Milan was the CFO of Benfield Group's US operations and was responsible for transitioning and restructuring its finance function from Dallas, Texas to Westport, Connecticut and was a key participant in the Group's successful initial public offering on the London Stock Exchange. Prior to Benfield, Milan was the CFO of Allied North America, one of the country's largest independently-owned specialty insurance brokerage firms, and was responsible for redesigning and strengthening its financial operations, as well as other portions of its business, which led to overall improved financial performance and results.
Milan spent much of his career at Ernst & Young as a senior partner, advising public and private insurance clients on merger and acquisition and other business strategies, including successful initial public offerings and other capital-raising initiatives, aggregating over $1B. Milan also assisted his clients in identifying hidden business risks and control deficiencies and in developing risk aversion strategies and improved financial controls leading to more accurate accounting and greater transparency. Milan also assisted insurance regulators with several of their largest insurance company rehabilitation and liquidation proceedings and with the education of their insurance financial examiners.
Milan received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and finance from Northern Illinois University. Milan is a licensed Certified Public Accountant, a Fellow in the Life Management Institute, and Chairman of the Society of Insurance Financial Management's Reinsurance committee and a member of its Executive Committee. Milan is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State CPA Society.
Mike Schnur, Partner
Mike Schnur is a senior reinsurance leader with over 30 years in the industry. Before joining TigerRisk Partners in 2009, Mike was an Executive Vice President with Benfield. He was co-leader of their Client Development practice and a member of their U.S. Executive Committee.
Prior to Benfield, Mike spent 11 years with Guy Carpenter & Company, LLC as an Executive Vice President with various responsibilities. He opened and ran their Chicago office, was head of their Mid-America Region, as well as becoming Global Head of their Business Development efforts. Mike was a member of Guy Carpenter's Executive Committee. Mike spent 10 years with Aon Re and was a member of their Executive Committee. He began his career as a reinsurance underwriter, first with General Re, and then with F&G Re.
Mike is a graduate of Drake University, with a BSBA in Accounting, and is a CPA.
Nathan Schwartz, FCAS, CERA, MAAA, CFA, Partner
Nathan Schwartz has been a partner at TigerRisk Partners since 2009 as a member of the analytical team. His expertise touches on the areas of economic capital modeling, reinsurance structure analysis, risk modeling and measurement, risk and capital allocation, and structuring and pricing reinsurance products, including securitized reinsurance. Over the last fifteen years Nathan helped design, analyze, and optimize reinsurance structures for many of the insurance industry's largest companies.
Nathan began his actuarial career in 1995 at the St. Paul Companies (now Travelers), pricing Medical Malpractice and reserving Specialty Lines. In 1999 Nathan entered reinsurance at E.W. Blanch Co. (now Aon Benfield) where he became the head of the financial modeling department. He has been involved in the development and creation of many risk modeling, risk measurement, and reinsurance optimization tools and techniques with a special focus in catastrophe risk management and optimization. Nathan has performed the financial and risk modeling in support of the raising of nearly $1B of capital for reinsurance "sidecars" and has designed economic capital policies and procedures, built economic capital models for clients, and helped clients allocate capital to risk groups and measure return on capital.
Nathan has a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics and computer science from Carleton College and a Master of Science degree in mathematics from Northwestern University. Nathan is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, a Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Nathan has published and presented before the Casualty Actuarial Society and at other conferences on reinsurance, reinsurance securitization, risk modeling, and risk management topics.
Amy Suttle began her reinsurance career in 1996 at E.W. Blanch Co. (now Aon Benfield) and quickly established herself as a leader in the corporate and reinsurance accounting departments, focusing predominantly on property and casualty business.
Prior to joining TigerRisk Partners in 2008, Amy was Vice President at BMS Intermediaries and Cooper Gay Intermediaries where she managed the Fiduciary Accounting and Claims Department for the Minneapolis office. Previous employers also include Willis Re and John B. Collins Associates, Inc.
Amy also holds various reinsurance intermediary and insurance producer licenses throughout the United States and Canada.
Prior to joining TigerRisk UK in March 2013, Jessica worked in the Claims Department for Bell & Clements Ltd on both the technical and broking side, predominantly handling high value homeowners and commercial property binding authority claims. Jessica joined TigerRisk UK as a Claims and Premium Technician and is now making a transition over to the London Broking Team.

Jacki Wagner began her reinsurance career at Benfield (now Aon Benfield) in 2003 in the contract writing department. From 2008 to 2012, Jacki left the reinsurance industry during which she worked as a claims analyst at The Hartford and the Marketing Manager at a flooring installation company.
Jacki transitioned to broking upon joining TigerRisk in 2012 where she works on the current client team. Jacki earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Bethel University and plans to continue her education through Bethel’s MBA program as well as industry designation courses.
